Meine Landwirtschaft ("My Agriculture") unites over 50 organisations — mobilising society for a genuine agricultural transition.
Meine Landwirtschaft is Germany's largest agricultural policy alliance. We bring together farmers, environmentalists, development organisations, consumers and animal welfare advocates under one roof — united by the belief that European agricultural policy must be fundamentally reformed.
Founded in 2011 as part of the Wir haben es satt! ("We've had enough!") movement, we have grown into a permanent campaign running alongside Germany's Green Week in Berlin each January, drawing tens of thousands of demonstrators.
Our carrier circle includes organisations such as BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany), Bioland, Demeter, Greenpeace, NABU, Oxfam Germany, Slow Food and over 40 further partners. The campaign is coordinated by the German Nature Conservation Ring (DNR) in Berlin.
We are funded by foundations and member contributions — independent of industry and state subsidies.
We call on the EU and its member states to reshape agricultural policy around people, animals and the planet — not corporate profits.
EU agricultural policy must prioritise feeding all people well within the planet's sustainable limits — and stop subsidising exports that undermine smallholder farmers in the Global South.
Sustainable family farming requires fair, cost-covering prices. We want stronger market power for farmers and consumers, regional supply chains, and an end to the subsidy system that favours large corporations.
Animal welfare, climate change and resource scarcity demand a fundamental shift in livestock farming and meat consumption. Industrial animal husbandry must no longer be subsidised.
Preserving Europe's cultural landscapes, crop varieties and livestock breeds — and halting biodiversity loss — is a question of survival in the face of climate change.
Agriculture must reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80%. This requires overcoming dependence on oil and mineral fertilisers, reforming livestock production, and building soil carbon through humus formation.
We reject high-risk technologies such as agri-genetic engineering. Farmer knowledge and holistic research — not corporate patents on life — must be the foundation of agricultural innovation.
